Holly has been a light for others to look up to. If our scholarship girls take one thing from this, I hope they shine their light so that others may follow

The Holly Marie Schwind Scholarship Foundation:

was established by Holly's surviving family members. Our goal is to provide opportunities for the same excellent education that Holly received both within the Catholic School System as well as at the collegiate level. Holly comes from a large family with many aunts, uncles, cousins, her two grandmothers, and of course her brothers and sister.

The family driven foundation has hosted several successful golf outings and is now considering other means of fund raising to support lofty scholarship goals. The scholarship recipients are currently attending Nouvel Catholic Central High School or have graduated, continuing Holly's legacy. This new school year will produce another outstanding youngster from Nouvel Elementary, formally St. Thomas Aquinas School.

The family has a long range goal of an endowment that will provide scholarship opportunities to AGD sisters attending Northwood University. Plans and strategies to make this goal a reality are underway. Suggestions and ideas are always welcome.

Holly's family wishes to thank the many supporters that have made the scholarship fund possible.

Holly Marie Schwind:

Holly was born on Sunday, June 9, 1974, the first of five children. She went to St. Thomas Aquinas grade school and then Nouvel Catholic Central High School. She played basketball (and she was good!!), she was a cheerleader, and was elected to the homecoming court. She graduated in 1992.

Holly went to Northwood University to study business. She became a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta women's fraternity, and later became the President. An excellent student, she graduated in 1996 with a degree in business.

Holly went to work for Dean Arbour Ford and eventually settled at the Tawas dealership where she did very well for herself. She made many friends along the way and still maintained close contact with the friends she made at St. Thomas Aquinas, Nouvel, and Northwood.

Holly enjoyed playing volleyball on a league in Tawas and enjoyed golf and bowling as well. She also loved playing Euchre at her Uncle Jim's parties. She has three brothers and a sister. She was an adoring aunt to two nephews and a niece. She owned her own beautiful home on Lake Huron in Au Gres.  Holly died on September 3, 2004 from domestic violence. Her soul is now in the arms of the Lord's angels while her body is resting peacefully in St. Andrew's Cemetery. However, a large piece of her remains forever in all of us.
